Work and travel, first of all, is the first step of your prosperous career. The summer period is the time when students are away from their family, responsible for every step and word and most importantly a representative of their country. This is my second summer in the USA. My first year was in New Hampshire and this summer I am in Michigan. I understood that whatever I did people referred to as "Oh, so this is how it is in Uzbekistan". I cooked Uzbek cuisine to the people of different cultures and told different stories about my motherland and so did they.
I was able to practice my Chinese, Turkish and of course English with native people. I learned how to play guitar, and I am hoping to share my song here in the blog sometime in the future. I made tons of friends and made great connections from around the world.
I will be honest, I had some difficulties too. During the first year, I was planning to be placed with my closest friend together but it didn't work out, I felt little homesick, however, we are spending the second season with him together. Also, my workplace in Michigan was located in Island and getting there was a little difficult task. Once, I got there it felt like it was a small town and not much to do. But, after some period, I got used to the place and fall in love with nature and people there.
Overall, the experience you get is extremely vital because you learn how to get along with people, customers. No matter which field you are studying in, this program is a great help because we work with clients everywhere.
When you see big cities, luxurious cars and unique building you become so grateful for all the efforts you have put so far. I have been to 7 states and the most beautiful city, to my mind, is Chicago. I hope I will come back one day to see all my friends because I already miss them.
