Career Training USA


Do you want to immerse yourself in another culture while also making great strides in your career path? Our Career Training program offers international university students, recent graduates and young professionals the opportunity to intern or train with a U.S. business. Our Internship program is for university students and recent graduates, while Trainee program is for professionals who already have a few years of experience in their fields.

We facilitate placements in the following occupational categories:

  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Management, Business, Commerce and Finance
  • Information Media and Communications
  • The Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics and Industrial Occupations
  • Arts and Culture
  • Education, Social Sciences, Library Science, Counseling & Social Services
  • Public Administration and Law


Program Placement options


Self-Placement program: Participants arrange their own Intern or Trainee placement with a U.S. business. Once a training/internship opportunity has been secured, we work with the participant to get their experience in the U.S. started.

Full-Placement program: We assist in finding the placements for Intern and Trainee candidates.

Eligibility


Internship Program                                                             Trainee Program

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or certificate program outside of the U.S. in their occupational field


OR

  • Graduated from an accredited university or certificate program outside of the U.S. in their occupational field more than 12 months before their requested program date AND has at least 1 year of related full-time work experience outside of the U.S.

OR

  • Graduated from an accredited university or certificate program outside of the U.S. in their occupational field no more than 12 months prior to their requested program start date.
  • Has at least 5 years of related full-time work experience outside of the U.S.
  • Know English well enough to perform successfully in the proposed training/intern position and commit to leaving the U.S. within thirty (30) days of the last day of their scheduled J-1 Internship/Training program.

Application Process


    We accept Intern and Trainee applications on a rolling basis. We recommend applicants begin the process at least 2 months in advance of their desired start date. Our process includes the following steps:

    • Eligibility Review- Once you send us inquiry, we will reach out to you to better understand your needs. We review your eligibility once the following required documents have been submitted.
      • CV, Passport, Diploma, Transcript from University and a Cover letter-explaining your interest in a professional training position in the U.S., your relevant experience and what you can add to the host company.
    • Online application- When the applicant is approved for sponsorship, he/she will be granted access to a personal account in sponsor website. The applicant will be asked to complete:
      • The online application
      • The online Skype interview
      • The pre-arrival virtual orientation
    • Host organization verification- Sponsor verifies your host organization
    • DS-2019 issuance- If your application and training plan are approved, then you will receive Form DS-2019—a “Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status.”
    • Visa preparation and application- Once the DS-2019 form is received, we rigorously train you for an embassy interview and schedule an interview at the Consulate.
    • Arriving in the U.S.- Upon successful receipt of a J-1 visa, you can travel to America to jump-start your career!

    • Program sponsorship for the J-1 Intern or Trainee visa

    • Training for Embassy Interview
    • Skype web interview with J1united, Sponsor and host organization (when applicable)
    • Host Company screening
    • 24-hour support from Sponsor while in the U.S.
    • Host Company placement
